some notes:

 - if you expirience gfx problems, please make sure you have an nvidia 
   geforce or better with latest detonator drivers
 - "de profundis" is a poem by georg trakl (1887 - 1914)

more technical notes on the final:

 - no content has changed. this is just a bugfix & performance pack
 - if you are installing the fix pack, just copy the executable over 
   the old file and put the *.gz.hid.gz files into the data directory.
   (for the curious: those files contain precalculated visibility data, 
   which greatly helps non t&l cards, and does not really hurt on t&l
   either)
 - should now also run on a tnt2 class card more or less fluid
 - another note for tnt and other low end cards: you might try with 
   texture compression and extensions first and only turn it off if it 
   really fails 
 - low memory option now actualy works (only ~50mb mem usage then) but
   you will have to deal with slight reloading/precalcs between scenes.
   so, avoid if anyhow possible. the option should really only be needed 
   on 128mb or less machines running a non-os like win95/98/me
 - bug with page flipping is fixed. sorry about that one.
 - why not try it with 2x or 4x fsa on your geforce now? 
   set it in: display settings->settings->geforce(tab)->additional settings->
   manual select antialiasing mode->2x
 - also, if you have a 64mb card, feel free to turn texture compression off
   for more quality
 - make sure to have vertical retrace sync set to "on by default", otherwise
   the demo might look just a little bit too flickery
